Sexologists approach the problem from a different angle.
There is such a thing as the dual control model. The desire for intimacy is regulated every second by two levers of our psyche. The first one is looking for reasons for intimacy to exist, while the second one is looking for a brake at the same time. When these functions are violated or one predominates over the other, a imbalance occurs. Either intimacy disappears completely from a persons life, or it can no longer be stopped and it doesnt take long to persuade.
