A negative outlook on life is the path to depression
A negative outlook on life appears, and then depression. That is, it causes an imbalance of chemical processes in the brain, in particular, a decrease in serotonin levels. Then a person becomes vulnerable to stress and various diseases. The quality of sleep and cognitive functions attention, memory, intellectual abilities will deteriorate. Another feature of pessimistic thinking is that it can form a kind of cyclicity, in which the negative consequences are multiplied many times; a person sincerely believes that everything is bad for him. The opposite state, optimism taken to the extreme, also has negative consequences. In bipolar disorder, strong optimism is a manifestation of the manic stage. At such a time, a person develops an illusion of security, which inevitably leads to underestimating risks and ignoring problems. People with this disease may also avoid negative emotions, have high expectations, and are prone to disappointment.
