In most cases, it usually involves some kind of entertainment.
For example, you are sitting alone at home, drinking tea with sweets, watching an interesting film. Or you can go to the cinema and watch it with other people, but in this case, however, you are unlikely to drink tea. When entertainment involves participation in the spectacle from the outside, as a spectator, then it is passive. When you get involved in some kind of entertaining activity, getting pleasure from your participation, then this is active entertainment. An example of this is dancing.
