The most important reason is to gain new knowledge and experience - but this is the beginning, this is only the basis - for the most important effect of travel.
I am talking about slowing down the perception of time. After all, the older we get, the faster time flies. The miserable home-work-home schedule that most of us are forced to live by turns life into a routine. The days become similar to one another, week flies by week, month by month... This happens because the brain spends virtually no time processing new information, because there is almost no new information. Remember your childhood: time passed slowly, every day, like a whole life. Because in childhood everything is new, everything is interesting. You can slow down the passage of time if you constantly feed your brain with new information.
