Before you open a SPA-center, it is very important to determine the amount of equipment needed and allocate budget. Let's look at what is included in a standard set of equipment for SPA. If we are talking about the traditional massage room, it's simple: couch, special tools - rollers, sacks, heaters, sticks, and more, the masseur's chair, lab, cosmetic cart, mini dressing room, sometimes a shower. If it is a classic Turkish bath, built on the principle of "five fingers", ie, consisting of five functional zones with different thermal modes, the standard set includes a variety of devices for dousing or font, for contrast procedures after the sauna. In any case, even the most unusual SPA-objects are formed from quite standard components, accessories and interior elements. Let us consider this with a specific example, but first let us clarify the composition of the most popular treatment rooms and functional areas for SPA in the hotel category 4-5 "stars". Each unit of functional equipment requires a standard set of furniture: a table-trolley, master's chair, if we are talking about cosmetology, we will need chairs, racks-cabinets for supplies, lamp-loupe, etc. To optimize the estimates for equipping SPA in the hotel can reduce spending on furniture and accessories, but experts strongly recommend not saving on the key equipment, which is the core of technology. Each zone may consist of several adjacent rooms, linked to each other and provide a transition to another zone, taking into account the technological chain of the proposed package of SPA-procedures. For example, the cabinet of Eastern technologies may be integrated into the hammam zone. The relaxation zone may be completed with equipment for making teas, fresh drinks and oxygen cocktails. SPA-center of this format can simultaneously serve two streams of visitors - hotel guests and customers from the city. Hotel guests, as a rule, do not stay in the center for a long time, using mainly the services of the beauty-zone, express cosmetology, relaxation and sauna procedures. They can also go to the swimming pool and fitness area, but as noted in previous publications, these areas should not be considered income-generating. The city customer perceives the hotel SPA as an alternative to other beauty salons. This category of visitors is offered long-term programs consisting of a number of complementary treatment packages - "anti-stress", therapeutic cosmetology and minimization of age changes ("anti-ageing"), weight management and body correction, as well as beauty and express cosmetology care. This client group should be seen as permanent, which allows a certain level of profitability to be predicted. Orientation towards two client flows allows for optimal utilization of the hotel SPA, which in turn accelerates the payback period of the key equipment investment, adequate to the level of a 4-5-star hotel. We are talking about such brands as Sybaritic (USA), Starpool (Italy), Haslauer (Austria-Germany), Unbescheiden Baden-Baden (Germany), Starvac (France), WellSPA (EU). The final set of equipment necessary for a particular SPA-space is largely determined by the level of the hotel, its specialization (family, VIP, "only for men", children, spa, cruise, etc.) and the technologies used (sessions, procedures, programs). Since there are no clear industry standards, we recommend to focus on three main factors: the country of origin (there is a long and time-tested specialization - for example, the best balneotherapy equipment is produced in Germany, Austria and France); availability of registration in your country. Since SPA technologies are the basis of non-state preventive health care system, a certificate confirming the use of equipment for medical purposes is an additional guarantee of its reliability and safety; a supplying company, which must have the necessary credentials from the manufacturer, a service, a training center, a system of warranty. Establishment of SPA facilities are regulated by standards developed for businesses that provide personal services to the public. In particular, the temperature in the room, lighting, noise level, air speed and air exchange, the need for increased waterproofing and floor heating, etc. are regulated. Designers are well aware of the special requirements for such enterprises. Therefore, their solution comes down to the preparation of accurate terms of reference design organization with an indication of the functional purpose of each zone. On the basis of this assignment special requirements are defined and incorporated into the project.
