All of this makes our lives more comfortable. And there are absolutely amazing examples of smart technology in medicine, an area that affects not only comfort, but people's lives as well. Digitalization has penetrated into medicine, as well as other industries, and it is here that it works most noticeably: the effectiveness of treatment for even the most severe diseases is increasing, and diagnosis predicts problems at the very beginning or even before they occur. In addition, service has gained a special role in healthcare today. Smart hospitals are being created all over the world, or old hospitals are being transformed into them. In such a "smart" hospital, the patient feels comfortable and relaxed. And I, like many people, am convinced that every hospital should be like that soon. Smart hospitals, or smart hospitals as they are commonly called, are built on technologies that automate not only many "manual" tasks, but also communication and interaction with patients, i.e. they digitize most processes. Such treatment facilities tend to be paperless. They usually purchase and/or develop state-of-the-art equipment, employ medical professionals and scientists, and conduct clinical research. A smart medical organization is not just a paperless hospital, not just a hospital with a state-of-the-art CT scanner or a robotic surgeon, and not just a clinic with a famous doctor. Smart hospital is all in all, with equal attention paid to innovation, breakthrough research, technology implementation, process automation, the selection of qualified medical personnel, their continuous training, and much more. In certain medical organizations, the concept of smart hospital is done with a certain emphasis: technology (robots in diagnosis and surgery, carrying out various procedures), digitization of the entire process of interaction with the patient, "smart" clinic management systems - staff, time resources, the patient treatment process, time, costs - and the R&D component. But globally, all smart medical organizations are about technology, people and processes. Many of today's most technologically advanced and breakthrough clinics focus on robots - robotization is happening both in terms of key treatment manipulations (e.g., surgery) and in terms of related processes (e.g., drug distribution). For example, Hartford in the U.S. has found the use of surgical robots for prostatectomies, heart surgeries, urological and gynecological procedures. In addition, they are used in advanced medical training, including robotic patients. The famous American medical center UPMC, which is rightfully considered one of the best in the United States in the field of transplantology, cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery and stroke treatment, is developing such area of medicine as the introduction of robotic limbs, brain-controlled prostheses. Digitalization has become the backbone of many modern clinics, including the oldest, which have simply invested in upgrading their medical facilities. For example, the Thai Bumrungrad Hospital, established in 1980 in Bangkok. Today, it is the largest hospital in Asia, purchasing state-of-the-art equipment every year - digital PET-CT scanners, drug dosing and distribution systems, and mammograms. There are also relatively new medical organizations that have started to emerge on the basis of modern IT solutions, "from scratch," as they say. "Smart hospitals also often emerge on the basis of university clinics that conduct scientific research and train doctors. Sometimes smart clinics have subspecialties. Ideally, of course, a smart hospital is a combination of smart components, such as at Seoul National University's Bundang Hospital.
